Movement

I think movement is something each object has within it. Something like a tsukumogami—a spirit inhabiting an object—or a soul, perhaps?

Strictly speaking, even an unread book sitting on a shelf is moving through space along with the Earth. But what matters to me is less that physical movement than looking at something in front of me and thinking, “If it moved, it would move like this.”

When I look at a shape, I can picture which way it might move and how, as though forces of attraction or repulsion live within it. Even when I design something to be still, I think, “No, this would move.” Maybe that is what led me to work with movement.
